Abstract
Gentry secondary orality is an Old Polish cultural phenomenon that reached its peak in the second half of the 17th century. In this article, I examine the specific characteristics of gentry culture that favored oral tradition and transformed the later-recorded noble storytelling into a distinct literary genre.
